Iran's Deputy Foreign Minister Kazem Gharibabadi stated that Iran intends to work out an agreement with Oman to oversee maritime traffic through the Strait of Hormuz. He said Iran would proceed with its own plans if Oman declines to participate in such an arrangement. These statements were made ahead of upcoming talks in Qatar regarding a formal end to the conflict between Iran and the United States.
