Popular drugs for bone health linked to significantly lower Alzheimer's risk

Researchers in Hong Kong studied 121,492 older adults and found that those taking nitrogen-containing bisphosphonates for osteoporosis had a 16% lower risk of Alzheimer's disease compared to those not taking the drugs, according to the study. Bisphosphonates are commonly prescribed medications to treat bone loss and prevent fractures. The study did not establish whether the drugs directly caused the risk reduction or whether other factors were involved.
