Marco Rubio Says Leftism Destroyed Cuba, Venezuela, Nicaragua, Left Misery in the Hemisphere

Secretary of State Marco Rubio said on Wednesday that leftist governments in Cuba, Venezuela, and Nicaragua caused economic and political deterioration in those countries. Rubio made the statement during remarks on Latin American policy. The three countries have been governed by leftist leaders for extended periods, with Venezuela under Hugo Chávez and Nicolás Maduro since 1999, Cuba under the Castro family since 1959, and Nicaragua under the Sandinista National Liberation Front at various periods, most recently under Daniel Ortega since 2007.
