Electric air taxis get the green light for test flights in Texas

The Federal Aviation Administration announced an Advanced Air Mobility and Electric Vertical Takeoff and Landing Integration Pilot Program that selected eight state-led initiatives to test electric, hybrid-electric, and autonomous aircraft. Testing began in Texas as part of the program. The FAA stated that the pilot program would gather data on operational procedures and safety requirements before finalizing federal regulations for this aircraft category.
