The yen strengthened to 154.06 against the dollar in London trading, marking its highest level since February and a 1.4% gain. The currency's advance surpassed the peak reached following coordinated intervention by Japan and the US. Geoff Yu, senior strategist at BNY, stated "some deterrence has been established" at 160 per dollar.
