Gloria Steinem: An icon of American feminism

Gloria Steinem co-founded Ms. Magazine in 1972 and served as a prominent advocate for women's rights and gender equality throughout her career. She organized the Women's Strike for Equality on August 26, 1970, which drew tens of thousands of participants to marches across the United States. Steinem remained active in feminist organizing and writing until her death on July 9, 2023, at age 102.
