Women who start common hormone therapy in their 50s may have 23% lower dementia risk

A study using UK Biobank data found an association between hormone replacement therapy initiated between ages 46 and 56 and a 23% lower dementia risk in women. The research examined records of women who began the therapy during that age window. The study does not establish whether the therapy directly causes the reduced risk or identify the mechanism behind the association.
