U.S. District Judge Indira Talwani issued a temporary restraining order against an election security rule on January 29, 2026, one day after the Supreme Court reversed her earlier injunction blocking the same rule. The temporary restraining order remained in effect pending a hearing. Talwani had previously enjoined the rule; the Supreme Court vacated that injunction before Talwani issued the new order.
