Wednesday, September 2, 2026
King Charles III, French President Emmanuel Macron, and Manchester Mayor Andy Burnham visited the British Museum to view the Bayeux Tapestry exhibition. The tapestry, a medieval linen cloth depicting events surrounding the 1066 Norman conquest of England, was displayed at the museum following a loan agreement between the British Museum and French authorities. The exhibition marked a rare showing of the artifact outside its permanent location at the Bayeux Museum in Normandy.
