Taliban Marks Five Years in Power Condemning the World for Not Recognizing It

The Taliban marked five years since taking control of Afghanistan with a parade in Kabul and released statements calling for greater international recognition of its government. The Taliban has not been formally recognized by the United Nations or most countries since August 2021. Afghanistan's borders remain largely closed to international travel and commerce.
