Russian state economist fired after stark warning about Moscow’s economic future

Andrei Klepach, an economist at VEB.RF, a Russian state development bank, was fired after issuing a warning about Russia's economic trajectory. Klepach had stated that Russia was losing a war of attrition, according to reporting on the dismissal. The European Union was preparing additional sanctions against Russia at the time of his firing.
