Claude will apply invisible watermarks to AI text and images

Anthropic announced it will embed machine-readable watermarks in text and images generated by Claude, along with digitally signed provenance metadata in supported file formats. The company made the announcement on a Claude support page in response to European Union transparency requirements for AI systems. The watermarks will not be visible to users viewing the content.
