West Nile virus detected in southern state as health officials warn residents about mosquitoes

The Tennessee Department of Health confirmed West Nile virus in mosquitoes collected in Nashville, marking the first detection in the state this year. Health officials are recommending residents remove standing water from property and use insect repellent containing DEET.
