How Cambodia became the first Asian country to hit an elusive HIV target

Cambodia achieved near-universal HIV diagnosis and treatment in 2025, becoming the first Asian country to meet a United Nations target of diagnosing and treating all people with HIV by 2030. The UN set this goal to reduce HIV transmission and improve outcomes for people living with the virus. Cambodia's health ministry did not immediately respond to requests for comment on the achievement.
