Thursday, August 6, 2026
Anthony Fauci was held in contempt of Congress by a Senate committee after invoking the Fifth Amendment more than 100 times during a hearing chaired by Senator Rand Paul. The committee vote found Fauci in violation of a subpoena requiring him to produce records. A cellular phone related to COVID-19 matters was obtained by Senate investigators as part of the proceeding. Fauci has not publicly responded to the contempt finding.
