Thursday, July 30, 2026
Bank of England Governor Andrew Bailey announced in July that the central bank's monetary policy committee decided to maintain interest rates at 3.75%. Bailey said at a news conference in London that the bank would "monitor the situation carefully and stand ready to adjust our stance as the evidence and our judgements on the outlook evolve." The decision came as UK inflation showed signs of easing faster than previously anticipated.
