Google and Bing search results have indexed conversations between users and Anthropic's Claude chatbot, according to reports of the exposure. The indexed chats included personal information and private exchanges that users believed were confidential. Web crawlers from the search engines accessed the conversations through Claude's shared chat links feature, which generates publicly accessible URLs unless users manually adjust privacy settings. Anthropic has since clarified its privacy policies and search indexing procedures.
