Monday, July 27, 2026
The Gordie Howe International Bridge connecting Detroit and Windsor, Ontario, opened on November 28, 2024. The bridge carries vehicle traffic across the Detroit River between the United States and Canada. In 2024, President Donald Trump called for blocking the project, though the bridge was approved and funded through prior agreements between the U.S. and Canadian governments.
