Texas-Based Group Facing Terrorism Charges for Alleged Sinaloa Cartel Weapons Pipeline

Federal prosecutors charged three men and one woman from Amarillo, Texas in connection with a weapons purchasing and smuggling operation that allegedly supplied firearms to the Sinaloa Cartel in Mexico. The charges were filed after the U.S. government designated the Sinaloa Cartel and five other Mexican cartels as foreign terrorist organizations. The defendants were charged under terrorism statutes related to their alleged role in the weapons pipeline.
