Forced to wait his turn, Marine Le Pen's deputy Bardella returns to the shadows
Friday, July 10, 2026
Jordan Bardella, 30, stepped back from his position as National Rally deputy leader in February 2026 following the party's failure to win a parliamentary majority in snap elections. Bardella had served as the party's public face during the campaign. Marine Le Pen remains the party's president. The National Rally won 143 seats in the National Assembly, short of the 289 needed for a majority.
