Meta turns off the Instagram feature that let users make AI deepfakes of public accounts

Meta disabled a feature that allowed users to generate AI images based on content from public Instagram accounts through tagging. The feature, announced earlier in the week, enabled the use of content from any public account in AI image creation without the account owner's consent. Meta's decision to turn off the feature followed public criticism.
