Ann Widdecombe served as a Member of Parliament for more than two decades and held positions including Parliamentary Under Secretary of State for Social Security and Prisons Minister. She was known among Westminster colleagues for direct communication in interviews and parliamentary settings. Widdecombe represented Maidstone and The Weald from 1987 to 2010 and later appeared on television programs including Strictly Come Dancing in 2014.
