Ransomware negotiator hired to represent victims was working for the attackers

A man received a six-year prison sentence after being convicted of working with ransomware attackers while employed as a negotiator for victims. The individual used his position to obtain sensitive information about ransom negotiations and victim companies, which he provided to the criminal group. Court records show he facilitated communications between attackers and victims while collecting payment from both sides.
