A decade later, Pokémon Go finally made good on its original promise

Pokémon Go held a 10th anniversary event in New York City where nearly 2,000 players participated in a coordinated raid to catch Mewtwo, a legendary pokémon featured in the game's original 2015 promotional material. The event demonstrated a multiplayer mechanic that allows large groups of players to work together in real time to defeat and capture high-level pokémon. Pokémon Go launched in July 2016 and is developed by Niantic.
