Mamdani defends controversial NYC map after omitting iconic Little Italy, Jewish and Irish neighborhoods

City Council Member Zohran Mamdani said a map of New York City immigrant neighborhoods will be updated to include Little Italy after Italian American groups raised objections to its omission. Mamdani represents a district in Manhattan. The map was released by his office and did not initially include Little Italy, a historically Italian American neighborhood in lower Manhattan. Italian American organizations contacted Mamdani's office regarding the omission. Mamdani confirmed the map will be revised to add the neighborhood.
