Fidji Simo steps down from leading OpenAI’s AGI work due to illness

Fidji Simo announced on X that she is stepping down from her full-time position as OpenAI's AGI chief and will transition to a part-time advisor role. Simo had announced medical leave in April due to a neuroimmune condition. No replacement for the AGI chief role has been named.
