Five NFL backup quarterbacks started games in Week 9: Shedeur Sanders, Carson Wentz, Drew Lock, Anthony Richardson, and Jarrett Minshew. Sanders, Wentz, and Lock took the field for teams in playoff contention. The other two backups also played Week 9 starts for their respective teams.
