DOJ: California Woman Facing Charges in $18 Million Coronavirus Relief Fraud Scheme

A Los Angeles woman was charged with wire fraud and conspiracy in connection with an $18 million coronavirus relief fraud scheme, according to the Department of Justice. The woman allegedly used funds intended for pandemic relief to purchase private property, finance business startups, and distribute money to relatives. The DOJ did not name the defendant in the initial announcement reviewed.
