Germany Said to Buy 50% of KNDS Tankmaker for About €6.5 Billion

Germany announced plans to purchase a 50% stake in KNDS NV, a European tankmaker, for approximately €6.5 billion. The acquisition would give Germany majority control of the company. Bloomberg reported the purchase is expected to reduce the likelihood of the company pursuing an initial public offering.
