Democrats Win South Carolina Senate Seat

Annie Andrews, a Democrat and pediatrician, defeated Republican Senator Darline Graham in South Carolina's Senate race. Darline Graham had been appointed to the seat following the death of her brother, longtime Senator Lindsey Graham. Double-digit vote swings in several counties contributed to Andrews' victory, according to election data analysis.
