Indiana man charged with arson after admitting to cutting off his genitals and setting them on fire

Christopher Peden, 34, of Fort Wayne, Indiana, was charged with arson following a garage fire on January 15, 2026. Peden initially told Fort Wayne police he was a stabbing victim, but investigators determined he had set the fire himself. Police said Peden admitted to setting the fire in a garage located in the 4600 block of Glendale Avenue. Peden was booked into the Allen County jail and faces charges related to the incident.
