Ex-Met officer from Couzens unit guilty of rape

Mark Tyrrell, a former Metropolitan Police officer, was convicted of rape, sexual assault, and attempting to delete messages sent to a woman. Tyrrell worked in the same unit as Wayne Couzens, the officer convicted in 2021 of the kidnap, rape and murder of Sarah Everard. The conviction adds to a series of serious criminal cases involving Met officers in recent years.
