Wally Funk, Who Set an Age Record for Space Travel, Dies at 87

Wally Funk, a pilot who flew to the edge of space aboard Blue Origin's New Shepard rocket in July 2021 at age 82, died at 87. Funk was the oldest person to reach space at the time of her flight. She had applied to NASA's astronaut program in the 1960s but was not selected.
