The Environmental Protection Agency proposed eliminating regulations that reduce engine power in heavy-duty trucks and farm equipment when diesel exhaust fluid systems malfunction. Under current rules, vehicles enter reduced-power mode at approximately five miles per hour when DEF-related issues are detected. The proposal was submitted during the Trump administration's second term.
