Ukraine's Starlink restored as Elon Musk claims Kyiv violated terms of service 'to kill people'
Sunday, October 25, 2026
Elon Musk said Ukraine's military violated Starlink's terms of service by using the civilian satellite service for offensive drone strikes, and that SpaceX closed what he called the loophole. Ukraine disputed Musk's claim, arguing that commercial Starlink's technical limits prevented medium- and long-range strike use. The New York Times reported that Ukraine said drones using Starshield, the Pentagon-funded service, had returned to normal speeds following a service disruption.
