Oil Exporters Build Resilience to Soften Blow of Hormuz Disruption

Oil-exporting nations in the Middle East have expanded storage capacity and diversified shipping routes over the past decade in response to previous supply disruptions. These measures include building strategic petroleum reserves and developing alternative export terminals outside the Strait of Hormuz. Officials from Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates, and other regional producers have stated these investments aim to reduce vulnerability to shipping disruptions in the waterway, which handles approximately one-third of global seaborne oil trade.
