Ex-MP Craig Williams pleads guilty over general election betting offence

Craig Williams, who represented Montgomeryshire and served as an aide to then-Prime Minister Rishi Sunak before the 2024 general election, pleaded guilty to a betting offence related to the election. Williams placed bets on the timing of the election before the date was publicly announced. The Gambling Commission investigated the matter and referred it to prosecutors.
