Comcast is splitting its media and broadband properties

Monday, June 29, 2026

Comcast announced plans to separate its media and broadband operations. NBCUniversal and Sky, the company's media properties, will be spun off into independent companies. The broadband and telecommunications business will remain under the Comcast name. The separation is expected to be completed through a series of transactions over the coming years. Comcast said the move will allow each business to operate independently and pursue distinct strategic priorities.
