Record-High US Fuel Exports Are Straining Domestic Stockpiles

U.S. diesel, propane, and other fuel exports reached record levels, reducing domestic commercial stockpiles across regions including the Gulf Coast and Eastern Seaboard. The surge in overseas fuel demand coincided with increased tensions between the U.S. and Iran. Energy prices rose during the period of elevated exports.
