Supreme Court financial disclosures reveal how their books add to their income
Wednesday, July 8, 2026
Supreme Court justices reported income from book royalties and speaking fees in their 2025 financial disclosure forms filed with the federal government. Justice Samuel Alito reported book-related income, as did Justice Clarence Thomas, whose wife Ginni Thomas received speaking fees. The disclosures, required annually under federal ethics rules, detail justices' outside income sources, gifts valued over $415, and travel paid for by outside organizations.
