What's behind the push to make peptide therapies more readily available

Several compounding pharmacies have sought regulatory clarity to manufacture peptide therapies, which are currently sold through online retailers and marketed for longevity and wellness purposes. The Food and Drug Administration has not approved most peptide therapies for these uses. Compounding pharmacies argue they should be permitted to produce these substances to meet consumer demand, though the FDA maintains authority over what compounds pharmacies can legally prepare.
