Apple begins testing CXMT chips for devices sold in China, FT says

Apple began testing custom chips manufactured by TSMC for devices sold in China, according to the Financial Times. The chips, referred to as CXMT chips, are designed to meet regulatory requirements in China. TSMC is manufacturing the chips at its facilities in Taiwan. Apple has not made an official announcement about the testing program.
