SCOTUS lets Texas enforce app store law that Big Tech calls "censorship regime"

Tuesday, July 7, 2026

The U.S. Supreme Court declined to block enforcement of Texas's app store law, allowing a lower court ruling to stand. The law requires app stores to offer alternative payment methods and restrict age-gating features. Tech companies challenged the law; the Fifth Circuit Court of Appeals upheld it in a previous decision. Litigation over the law's constitutionality continues in lower courts.
