Abigail Spanberger’s Virginia a ‘hotbed’ for illegal immigrant crime, DHS says after latest rape charge

The Department of Homeland Security reported in 2026 that Virginia has recorded 17 serious crimes alleged to have been committed by individuals in the country illegally, with nine cases occurring in Fairfax County. The report was released as a rape charge was filed against another individual in the state. Abigail Spanberger represents Virginia's 7th congressional district in the U.S. House.
