Discord accidentally banned over 8,000 people for posting grids and other ‘benign’ images

Discord said a bug in its safety system caused more than 8,000 accounts to be banned since May. Users reported being banned for posting images containing grids, including chessboards, game textures, and Minecraft inventories. The platform identified the issue following reports from affected users over the past week. Discord has not stated when the bug was introduced or when it was resolved.
