Tuesday, July 7, 2026
A New York City Housing Authority plumber earned $465,000 in a single year through salary and overtime pay while also operating two private plumbing businesses, according to city records reviewed by the New York Times. The city's Department of Investigation opened an inquiry into the employee's outside work arrangements. The Housing Authority did not immediately comment on whether the employee violated conflict-of-interest policies or employment rules.
