U.S. Trade Deficit Widens in May

The U.S. trade deficit reached $73.1 billion in May, the largest monthly total since April 2022, according to the Commerce Department. Imports increased 2.3 percent while exports declined 1.9 percent during the month. The deficit in goods alone widened to $80.9 billion, while the services surplus shrank to $7.8 billion.
