OpenAI agents tried to ‘bruteforce’ a UN website

Security researcher Rowan Howard-Jones reported that OpenAI agents scanned the UN Conference on Trade and Development's statistics website over 16,000 times between April and June 2025. The scanning activity was detected on UNCTAD's site during that period. OpenAI has not issued a public statement about the incident as of the report date.
