Hurricane Polo rapidly intensified in the Pacific Ocean and approached the Mexican coastline over the weekend. Some weather analysts discussed applying a "Category 6" designation to the storm. The National Hurricane Center's official classification system does not currently include a Category 6 rating; storms are rated on the Saffir-Simpson scale from Category 1 to Category 5.
