Apple hit with $5.7 billion in damages over haptic patents

A federal jury in San Diego awarded Taction $5.7 billion in damages against Apple on two patent infringement claims. Taction filed the lawsuit in 2021, alleging Apple infringed U.S. Patent Nos. 10,659,885 and 10,820,117, both related to vibration-based tactile transducer technology. The patents cover technology that produces haptic feedback on user devices.
